Creative Journalism

                                                          End of the year essay

Throughout this year in Creative journalism I have been exposed to many different forms of journalism. Doing this helped me expand my knowledge in the different fields. One of my favorite forms that we have studied in this year is photo journalism. The reason I like photo journalism the best is because it helps me create more of a visual sense of the story I'm trying to  tell rather than just writing words. They a picture is worth a thousand words and I think that is true because in one image you can capture a whole story. Doing the photo essay made me want to seek a career as a photographer because it seems pretty interesting choice as something to do

Also we have worked on writing for magazines. Through this process of writing for magazines I have learned that you must have information in order to back up the facts you put in your article. I kind of had fun doing this because I helped me with my research skills.

We also did biography interviews in order for you to get  know me as a writer we asked questions in order to get a look inside of our lives.

In the media word there are PSA's about a lot of things. The one my group selected was a PSA talking about stopping the spread of HIV and AIDS. This wasn't one of my most favorite Projects this year but it was still good to learn about it.

midterm essay this was a midterm about everything we learned towards that part of the year.

We also worked on creating a podcast which is a discussion about a certain subject, Podcasts are recorded they are not like live radio. they are recorded then edited to fit listeners ears. I had fun making my podcast which was about my favorite thing in the whole world basketball!
We talked about Amy Eldon who was the sister of a famous photographer Dan Eldon who died in war. I wrote this essay debating if taking pictures is worth risking your life

This year in Journalism was a very different experience because I wasn't very aware of the difficulty of work it is being a journalist. Also I wasn't aware of how photographer risked their lives in order to capture a photo. At first i thought that the thought of risking my life for a picture was a bit abs tern. but now I know the importance because if some of these people hadn't risked theirs lives. there would be a lot of untold stories. this year I was able to take a look inside of the world of journalism and I had a wonderful year doing that. it was a great experience
